Leander United Methodist Church is a welcoming community with love and acceptance one for the other. We strive to offer an environment where people from all walks of life may have the best opportunity to grow in truth and spirituality, no matter where they happen to be in their faith. We strive to be known as a congregation which delights in laughter.
Our Vision Statement:
We will be a hub through which the unconditional love and friendship of Jesus meets people where they are and transforms lives.
February 8-March 28
This Lent, join others in an eight week journey that seeks to transform mind, heart and life. “The Tangible Kingdom Primer” is a daily workbook that weaves scripture, reflection, and practice together. Participants are asked to be ready to commit twenty minutes a day for study and action in addition to the eight Monday sessions. Child care will be provided.
ASH WEDNESDAY WORSHIP SERVICE
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten Season and focuses on our mortality and need for forgiveness. Lent is a forty day period of repentance and reflection culminating with the events of Jesus’ final week. Ash Wednesday derives its name from the practice of placing ashes in the shape of a cross on the forehead as a sign of mourning and repentance to God.
All are invited to come to one of two catered Valentine meals on Friday, February 12 at noon and 6:30 pm. There will be delicious food, exciting entertainment, festive decorations and gracious service. The cost to our guests? $0. But, if you want to make a donation, there will be a basket by the door.
To RSVP for your meal, just look for the sign up sheets in the foyer or contact the church office. Child care will be provided at the 6:30 pm meal.
