PASTOR’S LENTEN STUDY
Mondays at 6:30 pm
February 23-March 30
Meeting Room A
Pastor Ray will be using the book, “The Present Future” by Reggie McNeal for the Pastor’s Study. This study offers a difficult but truth-telling word about some of our failed assumptions and efforts as the Body of Christ. By no means a serene devotional, McNeal’s book afflicts the comfortable and gives us the opportunity to return to Christ for direction, restoration, and transformation.
HOLY WEEK SERVICES AND EVENTS:
Palm Sunday | Cantata | March 29
Join us as we celebrate Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Festival music at all services with a Procession of Palms by the children at 11:00. During the 8:30 & 11:00 worship services, the LUMC Choir will be presenting a Cantata, “No Stone Could Hold Him” by Lloyd Larson, a powerful work filled with scripture-based images of Jesus as the foundation of our faith. Rock and stone themes are prominent throughout scripture and is the inspiration for this bold, original music alongside energetic spirituals and gospel songs. This Cantata is a spirited witness to the ministry, passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus, the Rock of our Salvation. Jesus is truly our living and eternal Rock!
