BE THE CHURCH DAY OF SERVING
Saturday, November 25
Lets show some love to our community and neighbors on Thanksgiving weekend!
We are partnering with Rockbridge Church and Good News UMC to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ by going out into the community and volunteering our time and energy to serve others.
Thanksgiving is a time to really reflect on some of the things we are so thankful for. What better time to head out into the community and share the abundant blessings and love that Jesus has shared with us!?
Our Be the Church leaders have been working hard to organize some fantastic projects right here in our own community where we can make a meaningful impact and share some love. You can check out the list of serving opportunities and sign up for any project HERE.
Families are encouraged to bring their children along and serve together.
We look forward to experiencing the joys of a full heart as we work together to share the blessing of our time and energy with our community and neighbors.
Wednesdays @ 6:30-7:30 PM
in the Sanctuary
What if our experience of the Savior this Christmas didn’t come through our plans, our frenzied activity, and our control of the season? What if, instead, God disrupts our plans and invites us to make unexpected space for the Christ Child? Like Mary, are we willing to allow God to birth something new in us? Are we willing to be interrupted by hope?
This is a discussion based study prompted by short video reflections. No book purchase necessary. Please commit to attend all four weeks if possible.
FAMILY ADVENT JOURNEY
Thursdays, November 30 – December 21
Join us for an inter-generational Family Advent Journey. This is for families with children of all ages, grandparents, older adults and singles who want to experience Advent in a new and creative way.
We’ll have four weekly 1-hour sessions on Thursdays, November 30 through December 21 at 6:00 pm. We will share a light meal then start on the Advent Journey. The Advent Journey consists of engaging discussion, time for reflection, and giant posters to color – one for each week of Advent. Each session will last one hour. We would love for you to commit to all 4 weeks, but you can attend whichever weeks that your schedule allows.
We will not have prayer meetings in November or December. We will resume in January 2018.
All are invited to our monthly Prayer Meeting. We’ll meet in the sanctuary where we’ll read a scripture passage together then have a time of reflective meditation and prayer for any concerns that God has placed on our hearts. All will be invited to have a personal prayer time anywhere on campus, inside or out, then we will convene in the fellowship hall for a time for sharing.
Come and join with folks 50 and older for food, fun, fellowship, and an opportunity to get to know a lot of people. Join us for a luncheon on the 2nd Friday of each month at noon. A program will follow each luncheon, which includes speakers of interest.
