Leander UMC is Invited to the Making Meaning Together Initiative!

We are delighted to share exciting news with you: Our church has been selected to participate in the 2026 Making Meaning Together (MMT) Initiative— a grant-funded initiative designed to support congregations to reimagine corporate worship and prayer practices so that children are fully included, engaged, and spiritually nurtured.

Making Meaning Together exists to guide and support churches as they design and implement creative, intergenerational, and child-friendly worship experiences that reflect the gifts and needs of children ages 0–12. Through learning, listening practices with children, grant funding, resourcing, and ongoing support, MMT accompanies congregations as they cultivate worship that helps all ages encounter God together.

As part of this program, our church will receive:

  • Funding to support our project vision
  • Access to resources and learning opportunities
  • Participation in a cohort of churches from the Rio Texas and Michigan UMC Conferences who are exploring what it looks like to worship with children, not just around them

Our project focuses on:

  • creating a pray-ground
  • space in the sanctuary
  • encouraging cross-generational friendships
  • building a sensory room

We are grateful for this opportunity and excited for the ways God will work through this season of learning, listening, and growing. Please join us in praying for our leadership team, our children and families, our congregation, and the many partners across the MMT network as we begin this journey.
