As communities across Central Texas continue to experience devastating flooding, our hearts are with all those who have been impacted. Many of these same communities are once again facing loss, uncertainty, and the difficult work of recovery.

At Leander United Methodist Church, we join Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey and the Rio Texas Conference in lifting up our neighbors in prayer. We pray for families who have been displaced, those mourning loss, first responders, relief workers, volunteers, and the local churches opening their doors as places of refuge, comfort, and hope.

There are meaningful ways our church family can respond:

  • Pray for everyone affected and for all who are serving their communities during this difficult time.
  • Give to Advance #2050 – Conference Disaster Response to support immediate relief efforts and long-term recovery.
    • Give online: riotexas.org/disaster-give
    • Text RESPONSE to 210-762-4200 to give by text.

As additional volunteer opportunities and response efforts are coordinated through the Rio Texas Conference, we will share those opportunities with our congregation.

In times like these, we are reminded that the Church is called to be a source of hope. Thank you for continuing to support our neighbors through your prayers, generosity, and faithful witness as we trust God to bring healing and restoration.
