"Calling on Fire" Book Club

What does it mean to be Methodist in this moment?

This summer, we invite you to join our book club reading Calling on Fire by Ashley Boggan and Chris Heckert. The book explores how the Wesleyan movement began as a Spirit-filled, community-centered movement focused on connection, compassion, justice, and transformation—and how those same practices can help churches today rediscover purpose and hope.

Together, we’ll reflect on Methodist history, practical ministry, and what it means to follow Jesus in ways that are rooted, courageous, and deeply connected to our neighbors.

You do not need to be an expert in Methodist history to participate. Come with curiosity, questions, and a willingness to learn together.
