Throughout October, our Changing the World offering is taking a slightly different approach! Instead of designating our gifts to one ministry for the entire month, we're highlighting a different mission each week, giving our congregation the opportunity to support several meaningful ministries and extend our impact to communities near and far.
This coming Sunday's offering supports Willie Berman, a United Methodist missionary to the Methodist Church of Mexico and executive director of Manos Juntos VIM, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in Tamaulipas, Mexico.
Through three distinct ministries, Manos Juntos works to remove barriers that keep children and families from accessing education, childcare, and opportunities for a brighter future.
Vamos Tamaulipas is a low-cost alternative school serving children whose families cannot afford the uniforms and school supplies required to attend public school. In addition to providing classes, the school offers free breakfast, helping students begin their day nourished and ready to learn.
Free Day Care provides care for preschool-aged children, allowing parents to work and support their families while knowing their little ones are being cared for.
Instituto Susana Wesley offers tutoring and special events for children who need additional academic support, helping them catch up in school and build confidence in their abilities.
One of the most remarkable things about this ministry is how far a gift can go. A donation of just $150 provides breakfast for all students at Vamos Tamaulipas for three full days. That's three mornings when children can arrive at school knowing they'll have a meal and the opportunity to focus on learning.
As we continue our Changing the World offerings this month, we're reminded that generosity takes many forms, and even a single gift can make a meaningful difference in someone's life.
Thank you for your continued generosity and for helping us share Christ's love beyond the walls of our church and across borders. Together, we truly can change the world!
