As a new school year begins, we have an opportunity to support local teens experiencing homelessness in the Leander schools. These students may be living in their cars or “couch surfing” at friends’ homes. Last year, approximately 200 students and their families needed assistance.
Our Helping Hands Program collects small-sized toiletries that students can easily carry in a backpack or small bag. Consider donating travel-sized shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, lotion, and other personal-care items.
Look for the Helping Hands Donations box in the Fellowship Hall and help a local student head back to school with what they need.
