During the month of September, our Changing the World offering will support the Rio Texas Youth Ministry Council.

The Youth Ministry Council is a conference-wide ministry made up of youth in 7th–12th grade and adults from across the Rio Texas Annual Conference. These young leaders serve in their local churches, districts, the conference, and beyond as they seek to share Christ’s love, grow as Jesus’ disciples, and transform the world.

This ministry helps youth discover that they are not simply the future of the church; they are part of the church right now. Through leadership development, monthly gatherings, conference representation, service, fellowship, and opportunities to participate in wider United Methodist gatherings, the Youth Ministry Council helps students use their gifts for the good of the church and the world.

The council also works to raise awareness around student mental health and make helpful resources more accessible for youth, families, and ministry leaders.

When we give to this offering, we are investing in young people who are listening for God’s call, growing in faith, building community, and leading with compassion and courage.
